Sanjay Shelat is Charlie

Trained at Italia Conti, Sanjay has been enthusiastically throwing himself at Drama projects most of his life. From performing as an actor in BBC’s “Boot Street Band” and “Uncle Jack” with the lead singer of Manfred Man, through to interviewing Shilpa Shetty and Ansly Harriot as a presenter, Sanjay feels lucky to be doing what he loves. Recently he has toured Twisting Yarns production of ‘Life of Pi’ – winner of the MAN booker prize 2002, appeared as the lead in German cinema’s in the film “Pleasure Marriage”, and was thrilled to play the son of someone he grew up watching on telly, Pauline Quirk from Birds of a feather!

His sister - his inspiration for this role!

When a barely standing baby, Sanjay used to pretend to sing in front of guests using a metal spoon as a microphone… until every time his sister used to get a little jealous and take him from under the arm pits and drag him off. He’s hoping that his sister won’t affect your enjoyment by doing the same thing during today’s performance.
